| Winter Dance
Uttara-Kuru is a duo that has
combined traditional Japanese and modern instruments to create a new musical
feel. Winter
Dance is one of their especially pretty pieces;
their album notes from East Wind
say "Our image is of a fantastic night with villagers
dancing around a large fire Perhaps it's a view of a remote, still
undiscovered world."

Malagueña
Ernesto Lecuona's possibly-most-familiar work describes a
woman of the town of Malaga. When you play this, it surely will create a
musical portrait of a lady with flair and boldness!

Danza española No. 2 "Orientale"
Granados, one of the great Spanish pianist/composers, had
a
tremendous gift for capturing the scenes of his homeland
with dots and lines. This solo
conjures up an image of the quietude of an
autumn nightfall.

A Celebration of our Life
Peter and Melinda Darbee commissioned this lively, joyous piece for their
30th anniversary celebration, and had their church's handbell choir premiere
it when they renewed their vows. Fun abounds in this piece, not just because
it's tremendous fun to play, but also it's a musical puzzle with elements of
the score referring to the occasion - find them if you can!

| Scherzo No. 2 Here's a masterpiece from one of the Russian nationalist
masters. It's a full-length concert piece. it uses lots of hardware -
six octaves of bells and six octaves of chimes. It's challenging. And it's
one of the most gorgeous pieces you'll ever play. 6 Octaves

Noctune in e minor Chopin was one of the most
imaginative composers of the nineteenth century. In fact, his writing style
is distinctive even after more than 150 years have passed. This
transcription of one of his evening pieces sings a pensive air suggestive of
moonlight reflecting off a tranquil lake.

| Heather's Dance
Dancing in the Highlands is the picture for this unusual trio, originally
scored for handbells, harp, and bowed psaltery.
Keyboard may be substituted for the harp, and other
transpositions have been included to use a C, B-flat, E-flat, or F
instrument in place of the psaltery. Addition of bodhrán is
recommended! 3 Octave Solo Handbells and 2 Solo Instruments |
