Behind the Scenes: Making Ballerinas Beautiful

This course will explore the history of theatre makeup and include a demonstration.

From Louis XIV to The Black Swan, explore the history of ballerina stage makeup using 16th Century paintings through modern films and stage. Then enjoy a demonstration of how the makeup is applied, and the techniques used to create the classic ballerina face.

The spirit-filled Arcata Interfaith Gospel Choir will perform their Spring Concert at 7 p.m. on May 7, 2016, at the Arkley Center for the Performing Arts, 412 G Street, Eureka CA. The concert also features the AIGC Youth Choir and the Oakland Interfaith Community Choir under the direction of Terrance Kelly.  

For 24 years, the Arcata Interfaith Gospel Choir has sung out its message of faith, hope, love and joy.  The 70-voice choir serves the North Coast region by singing at community events, fundraising benefits, memorials, churches and for inmates at the Humboldt County jail.

A rockin' silent auction and raffle will help support the work of the AIGC.  No-host bar and snacks will be available.

Tickets are $15 each and are on sale online and at two outlets:

A special price of $12 each is available for groups of ten (10) or more.
